Night Bus is a calm audio and visual wind-down experience. It uses virtual city routes, ambient audio crossfades, weather, map visuals, and a sleep timer. It does not request your device’s current location.
This policy explains how Night Bus handles information when you use the iOS or iPadOS app. Night Bus is developed and supported by Ondine Digital, Australia. This policy applies specifically to Night Bus and should be read separately from any general Ondine Digital website policy.
The policy describes information used by Night Bus and information that may be handled by service providers when the app requests maps or weather. Providers may also have their own privacy policies and retention practices, which govern their handling and retention of request information.
Night Bus does not request Location Services permission and does not read your device’s current GPS, Wi-Fi, or cellular location. Routes are virtual. The app uses coordinates associated with the virtual city and route selected by the user.
Those virtual route coordinates may be used for map display, road matching, directions, reverse geocoding, and street-name lookup. They represent the selected virtual route, not the location of your device. Night Bus uses them to render the selected virtual journey and supporting map features; it does not report actual vehicle positions, guide travel, or share your location.
Night Bus may store the following on your device so its features can work:
There is no Night Bus account or cloud profile. This information is not uploaded to an Ondine Digital account, and Ondine Digital does not retain your local app settings or local app data on its own servers. Local route data may be evicted by the operating system or by the app. Deleting Night Bus removes the app’s local data from the device, subject to the platform’s normal deletion behavior. Music is included with the app installation.
Some features need an internet connection. Depending on the route and features you use, Night Bus may send the following limited request information to the relevant service:
Apple MapKit renders the map. MapKit’s MKDirections service resolves selected virtual route segments to road geometry, and Core Location’s CLGeocoder reverse-geocodes virtual coordinates for nearby place and street names. These are the coordinates of the virtual city and route selected in the app, not your device’s current location. See Apple MapKit documentation and Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Coordinates for the selected virtual city may be sent to retrieve weather information. Open-Meteo’s published terms state that web-server logs, including requested URLs and IP addresses, may be retained for up to 90 days. The service’s handling of that information is governed by its Terms & Privacy page. Night Bus does not use this information for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Apple and Open-Meteo may receive ordinary technical information associated with a request, such as IP address, request time, device or operating-system headers, and requested resource. They may retain technical request data under their own policies. Night Bus does not use these services to build a Night Bus account or cross-app advertising profile.
Through the app, Night Bus does not request or collect:
[email protected] is available for support enquiries initiated by you. The app itself does not collect an email address. If you choose to contact support, the information you include in your message is used to respond to that enquiry.
App-controlled network requests use HTTPS where supported. Information stored locally is protected by the platform app sandbox. Ondine Digital does not retain a Night Bus user profile or your local app settings on its own servers. Third-party providers may retain technical request data under their own policies. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and this policy does not make an absolute security or retention guarantee.
To delete local Night Bus data, delete the app from your device. For questions about a support enquiry you initiated, contact us using the support contact below.
Night Bus is not designed to collect personal information from children. We do not knowingly collect personal information through the app. If you have a question about a child’s privacy or believe personal information was sent to us in a support enquiry, please contact us so we can review it.
We may update this policy when Night Bus features, service providers, or legal obligations change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the app or this website where appropriate.
